I really liked this, but I couldn’t help comparing this to Carry the Ocean, which I loved more.
I’ve read several reviews that people were a bit uncomfortable at the sex scenes, but I didn’t share those feelings. I thought Ethan was depicted beautifully and sex was just as much part of his life as it is for (almost) every 27 year old man.
Carter and Ethan were perfect for each other and I really liked them together. But I couldn’t quite escape the feeling that something was missing. I don’t know, some extra spark perhaps? The whole relationship felt quite rational to me. I think I needed a bit more chemistry?
Overall I enjoyed reading this. And I think the way Carter’s Tourette’s and Ethan’s brain damage was depicted in a very respectful way.
